MZAZA had an amazing time at Cygnet Folk Festival with a full house and incredibly warm audience the first night. We were a bit nervous about playing the outdoor stage the second night because it was a bit chilly but the non-stop dancing crowd meant for a high energy gig. The workshop on Balkan and Turkish folk tunes was curiously popular as was our themed show which received a standing ovation. Pauline’s women in jazz program, Tilly Bebe performed some new works and Goran, Malindi and Philip performed with East of West (with Greta guesting). Pauline also sung a welcome for the pilgrims who walk to Cygnet Folk Festival over a few days.

We also performed at MONA in Hobart on a beautiful afternoon and at Staves Brewery in Sydney.

MZAZA were also invited to be part of the Phoenix Central Park collection of music that Judith Neilson and her team are curating. We performed in her incredible new music space in Chippendale and it was filmed and recorded by an excellent crew who will edit and release it on their YouTube channel soon.
